Introduction

A Brighter Tourism Future is an objective that many countries are keen to achieve, given that tourism is a vital sector that plays a significant role in economic growth, job vacancy creation, and enhancing cultural understanding and sustainability.

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the National Centre for Statistics & Information, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Arab League, organizes the Second Arabic Forum for Tourism Statistics within the program “Sur, the Capital of Arab Tourism in 2024” in the period from 14 -16 October 2024.

The Forum aims to discuss the role of tourism statistics and data in supporting national development strategies in the Arab region, as well as enhancing collaboration among Arab countries in the area of data exchange and developing common statistical standards.
